Suspected militants detonated a roadside bomb on Thursday in North Waziristan, killing a soldier and wounding another, officials said. The bomb was triggered by remote control near the town of Mir Ali, a security official said.
"One soldier was killed and another wounded when their vehicle hit an improvised explosive device," he said. Earlier another roadside bomb struck a paramilitary convoy wounding two soldiers near Miranshah in the same region. The troops retaliated and their firing left a woman and a man dead while four suspects were arrested, the official said.
