Assemblies to elect Musharraf for next term: Rao

Defence Minister Rao Sikandar Iqbal has said that the relief package announced in the budget would be implemented and hoarders, profiteers responsible for artificial price hike would be dealt with iron hand.
Talking to Nazims and Naib Nazims of district Okara here on Thursday, he said that in the coming days people would feel decline in the prices of essential commodities. "The assemblies would elect the President for the next tenure and there is no bar about it in the constitution" he added.
About defence and security situation, the Defence Minister said that Pakistan is a peace-loving country and would continue the policy of minimum credible deterrence. He said, "We are committed to resolve all the outstanding issues with India through dialogue."
Rao Sikandar further said that President Pervez Musharraf had put the country on the track of development and prosperity and his stay in the power is in the best interest of the country.
