Cotton sowing to complete by June 20

Cotton sowing in Rahim Yar Khan district has so far been completed over 685,380 acres, which is 86 percent of the area targeted for cultivation. DO Agriculture Arshad Javed told APP here on Thursday that the cultivation target of 792,470 acres would complete by June 20.
He said the best cotton yield in the country is being produced in the Rahim Yar Khan region since several years, while top quality pollution-free cotton is being produced since the establishment of the pilot project here in 2001. Similar projects have also been set up in district Bahawalpur as well as in district Ghotki (Sindh), he said.
