A big chunk of money has been reserved for conducting research activities in agricultural sector aimed to enhance per acre yield, Punjab Minister for Finance Hasnain Bahadar Dreshak said.
Speaking in PTV's "News Plus" he said the ratio for spending on research activities has been enhanced up to 40 from merely 05 percent in a bid to explore methods for gaining maximum production.
Extraneous efforts were underway for developing infrastructure in the province to enhance job opportunities for the people, he said, "Youngest Barrage feeding irrigation system is 50 years old while the oldest one is 100 years old. It is our national obligation to build maximum dams for attaining self sufficiency in various products including food items," he added.
