Raw sugar prices settled virtually unchanged on Friday in switch trade as the market is seen taking its cue from gyrations in crude and metal markets, analysts said.
The New York Board of Trade's July raw sugar contract rose 0.01 cent to finish at 15.01 cents per lb, dealing from 14.92 to 15.07 cents. It was almost an inside day when compared with Thursday's 14.86 to 15.07 cents band.
The now benchmark October contract added 0.02 to 15.35 cents, moving from 15.24 to 15.48 cents. Back months ranged from 0.02 cent up to 0.06 cent softer.
Technicians feel support in the July contract was at 14.86 and 14.50 cents, with resistance at 15.05/07 and 15.22 cents.
