Karachi Union of Journalists (KUJ) on Saturday strongly condemned gruesome murder of missing journalist Hayatullah in North Waziristan tribal area and announced to observe three-day protest, boycott of Sindh Assembly proceedings on Monday and taking out protest rally on the same day.
A joint statement by the President, General Secretary and Executive Council members of KUJ said journalists' community had expressed concern at government's attitude as it is not taking any interest regarding Hayatullah.
They said brutal murder of newsman Hayatullah and government's non-serious attitude in his recovery and saving life was creating doubts in minds of journalists' community and announced to observe three-day protest against his and KTN's cameraman Munir Sanghi's murder. KUJ office-bearers said journalists will boycott Sindh Assembly's proceedings on Monday and take out a protest rally from Karachi Press Club (KPC) in the afternoon.
