Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Saturday said development of Balochistan is a key priority of the government and it will continue to allocate necessary funds for the uplift of the province. He was talking to a delegation from Balochistan led by Senate deputy chairman Mir Jan Muhammad Jamali.
It included Mir Abdul Majid Bizenjo, former provincial minister and vice-president of Pakistan Muslim League (PML), Inayat Allah Khan Baazai, former deputy speaker of Balochistan assembly and Senior PML vice-president.
The Prime Minister said the government is keen to accelerate process of economic development in the province and has allocated a large part of the Khushal Pakistan Fund for Balochistan. He said the government has spent substantial funds to lay a network of bridges, dams, roads, schools, hospitals and income generation projects in the province.
The delegation apprised the Prime Minister of implementation status of various development projects in the province and said funds allocated under the Khushal Pakistan Fund will provide impetus to the growth of the province. The delegation also discussed party matters and its reorganisation in Balochistan.
