The Alexandria Cotton Exporters' Association (Alcotexa) said on Monday it had committed to sell 2,143.5 tonnes of cotton in the week which ended on June 17. Alcotexa figures showed sales of 105 tonnes of Giza 45, 146 tonnes of Giza 70, 196 tonnes of Giza 88, 1,396.5 tonnes of Giza 86, 225 tonnes of Giza 80 and 75 tonnes of export type.
The new commitments bring Alcotexa's export commitments for the season, which began in September, to 91,806.8 tonnes of cotton worth $220.9 million, an Alcotexa official said.
