The CBR has levied sales tax at the rate of zero-percent on the import and local supply of flavoured milk. Through SRO 646(I)/2006, issued on Wednesday, a new tariff heading (22.02) has been included in the scope of zero-rating of dairy products.
In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (c) of Section 4 of the Sales Tax Act, 1990, the Federal Government is pleased to direct that in its Notification SRO 548(I)/2006 dated 5th June, 2006, the Following amendment shall be made, namely:-
In the aforesaid Notification, in the Table, against S. No 4 in the first Column, in the third column, after the figure "9900", the word and figure "and 22.02" shall be added.
