Militants shot dead three policemen in an ambush, police said Thursday. About a dozen attackers opened fire when a routine police patrol was crossing a bridge outside Bannu late Wednesday, a police statement said. "They killed a police inspector and two constables," said the statement.
The attackers who came in a pickup truck fled toward North Waziristan after seizing weapons and a police van.
