Senator accused of depriving poor families of land

Workers of Communist Party of Pakistan and Naujawan Mahaz staged a protest demonstration against the ruling party senator, who allegedly deprived poor families of their ancestral land by force and involved the real owners of the occupied land into fake criminal cases.
The protestors, led by Punjab CPP General Secretary Syed Irfan Haider Shamsi, Syed Shuja Haider, Noor Khan, Attaullah Malik, Comrade Salim Akhtar and others staged demonstration at Chowk Kutchery against senator Javed Ali Shah, who allegedly occupied the land forcefully.
Speaking on the occasion, Punjab CPP General Secretary Syed Irfan Haider Shamsi said PML-Q senator Syed Javed Ali Shah's men had beaten male and female members of the victim families just to vacate a piece of land at Basti Dhondon. He said the police also protecting the land mafia.
The poor families have been living on their ancestral lands for years but the senator using his political influence got registered criminal cases against the victim families.
The victim families have filed a number of applications with the district administration and police for getting the occupied land vacated but no positive action had been initiated so far.
