Measures taken to check price hike: Wasi

Government has taken elaborate measures to check price hike in addition to discourage hoarding to ensure availability of items of daily use at market rates, said Chaudhry Muhammad Wasi Zafar, Federal Minister for Law, Justice and Human Rights.
Addressing a gathering in Jinnah Colony after inaugurating distribution of various commodities through Utility Stores Corporation (USC), he said that government has stabilised national economy and now efforts are being made to disseminate its fruits to the down trodden.
He appreciated the role of USC in providing items of daily use at subsidised rates and at the doorsteps of the masses and said that government has taken various measures to give maximum relief to the people. "Shortage of sugar has already been controlled", he said and added that more steps are in pipeline to control price hike in the country. Hafiz Tahir Jameel, Secretary District Consumer Association also addressed the function and lauded the efforts of the USC in resolving peoples' problems.
