Ten trucks packed with 0.2 million school bags gifted by the Pakistan government for Afghan children left for Afghanistan. Director Afghan Trade and Development Islamabad Colonel Salim Akhtar (Retd) handed over the kits to First Secretary of Afghan Consulate Asadullah Pashtoon at a function held here on Saturday.
Total number of the school kits donated stood at 0.3 million of which 0.1 have already been sent to Afghanistan. Addressing the function Colonel Salim Akhtar (Retd) said that Pakistan has so far given US dollar 250 million for the reconstruction of Afghanistan after 9/11 against the actual commitment of only 100 million dollar. Moreover, Pakistan has donated 200 trucks, 45 ambulances, 10 buses for Ningarhar University and 100 local buses for Kabul city.
