Cordial ties with Kabul in Pakistan's interest: Kasuri

Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri has said that cordial ties with Afghanistan are in Pakistan's interest. In an interview with BBC Radio, he said, "cordial relations with Afghanistan are in favour of Pakistan to create a congenial atmosphere for the return of Afghan refugees to their country."
"We want gas pipeline from Turkmenistan and links with Central Asia and all this is possible in case of peace and stability in Afghanistan", the minister said.
To a question, he said security matters, meeting of two country's foreign minister's after three months and frequent meeting of security officials came under discussion during the meeting with Afghan Foreign Minister Dr Rangin Dadfar Spanta.
Kasuri said Pakistan suggested fencing of Pak-Afghan border in the talks.
He added that it had also been decided in the meeting that information shared between the two countries would not be disclosed publicly. The minister said Pakistan and Afghanistan had agreed to further improve confidence between the two countries.
