Balochistan Chief Secretary K B Rind has directed all the provincial departments to ensure smooth and timely implementation of devolution plan in the province. Presiding over a meeting to review progress on implementation of the devolution plan here on Tuesday.
He said efforts were being made to further strengthen the administrative and financial institutions of the district governments. Besides, he said capacity building workshops were also being held for elected representatives at grassroots level so that they could effectively discharge their responsibilities.
The CS also formed a task forced headed by the additional chief secretary and entrusted it with the job to expedite progress on the projects relating to the plan.
He assured that the provincial government would extend its complete co-operation to National Reconstruction Bureau (NRB) for smooth implementation of Police Order 2002 and Local Government Ordinance 2001 in future as well.
Earlier, the meeting reviewed progress on establishment of public safety commission at the district and union council level, appointment of the district ombudsmen and setting up of the district cadre.
Matters relating to training workshops for the elected representatives and implementation of Access to Justice Programme also came under discussion during the meeting. Project director decentralisation programme also attended the meeting.
