The Karachi Port handled 95,690 tonnes of cargo including 74,236 tonnes import, 21,454 tonnes export cargo and 2,576 containers during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Saturday.
The cargo comprised of 50,881 tonnes dry cargo including 39,544 tonnes general cargo; 6,096 tonnes sugar; 1,910 tonnes fertiliser; 3,331 tonnes cement and 44,809 tonnes oil/Liquid cargo. Four ships namely Orient Independence, Sp 5-Eric G Gibson, Marcalabria and Enricher sailed out to sea during the report period.
Three vessels viz Oel Patriot, Antonis and Captain Lefteris are currently at the berths.
Two ships namely Uthal Navee and Kota Tabah expected to sail on Saturday, while four vessels viz Oel Patriot, Global Progress, Sutra Tiga and Jo Birk are expected to sail on Sunday. One ship Maersk Alabama due to arrive on Saturday, while six ships namely Yang Jiang He, Wan Hai-303, Ilse Wulff, Nicolas S, Xiang Rui Men and Chi Feng Kou are due to arrive on Sunday.
Four ships namely CV Al-Mirqab, CV Orient Independence, MSC Selin and MV Boreal sailed out to sea during report period, while another ship MT Gazelle is expected to sail on Saturday.
A total of six vessels viz Saudi Abha, MSC Camille, MSC Germany, Worada Naree, Hyderabad and Trust Spirit are currently at the outer anchorage. Four ships namely CV MSC Germany, CV Saudi Abha, MT Opal and MT Trust Spirit due to take berths on Saturday. Six vessels viz CV Sima Paya, CV China Star, CV Xiang Wan, MT Yanaseni, MT Warbah and MT Qem Star with containers, diesel oil and chemicals due to arrive on Saturday, while two more ships namely CV CV MSC Dymphna and MV Loch Lomond with containers and iron ore are due to arrive on Sunday.
The cargo comprised of 70,755 tonnes furnace oil; 50,075 tonnes diesel oil; 30,247 tonnes edible oil; 65,350 tonnes crude oil; 2,389 tonnes carbon oil; 28,693 tonnes chemicals; 29,526 tonnes sugar; 9,600 tonnes seeds and 211,225 tonnes containerised cargo. A total of twenty-six ships took berths to load/offload the above cargo, while twenty-six vessels sailed out to sea during the reporting week.
