The lineup of vessels waiting to load sugar in Brazilian ports rose to 39 from last week's 31, shipping agents Williams said. It said in a weekly report that 27 vessels were lined up in the southern port of Santos, up from 21 last week.
In north-eastern Brazil, there were no vessels at Maceio nor at Recife, unchanged from a week ago. The center-south, which accounts for 88 percent of national output, started cutting a forecast record cane crop in March and will continue until December. Santos port accounted for 74 percent of sugar tonnage being loaded n the ports of Brazil.
