Rapeseed, gram prices up amid tight supply

The seed items showed modest increase in prices following the short supplies from upcountry markets, dealers said at the local grain market on Saturday.
On the seed side, rapeseed Nawabshah low type rose by Rs 10 to Rs 780 and the good quality gained Rs 20 to Rs 800, they said. Rapeseed Dadulane superior type picked up Rs 50 to Rs 725 while the low variety did not show any change at Rs 665. Rapeseed Mirpurlane followed suit, inferior type was up by Rs 10 to Rs 318. The best type rose by Rs 20 to Rs 320, other items maintained the same levels in process of trading, they said.
On the grams side, gram garda Punjab gained Rs 50 to Rs 28250-2900. Gram dall Punjab rose the same amount to Rs 3250-3350.Yellow peas Canada picked up Rs 50 to Rs 1425-1475, they said. Yellow dal Canada was up by Rs 25 to Rs 1600-1650. Beetle chana No 1 picked up the same amount at Rs 2950-3025 and beetle 50x50 also gained the same amount at Rs 2875-2925, dealers said. A solo deal was witnessed on the cereals side where wheat Mexipak picked up Rs 15 to Rs 1080 due to good demand, dealers said.
