'Data Bank' to be set up at Sindh University CRDC

A Data Bank will be established at the Centre for Rural Development Communication (CRDC) to collect information on rural problems and disseminate it for assistance of research scholars of rural development. The decision, in fact, was taken in a meeting regarding non-development budget for CRDC of Sindh University here on Monday.
Meeting was presided over by Vice Chancellor Mazharul Haq Siddiqui. Professor Dr Rafia Ahmed Shaikh, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, Professor Dr Rajab Memon, HEC Professor, Professor Ibadullah Rashidi, Director, CRDC, Registrar Dr Saeed Ahmed Soomro, Director Finance Faiz Muhammad Hingoro and others attended the meeting. The meeting discussed CRDC's progress and the on going training and capacity-building programmes.
The meeting decided that four training & capacity-building programmes for building of rural communities and clientele groups will be organised during the current financial year. It was further decided that professional diploma courses in rural development will be organised by the CRDC, for professionals, from July to December 2006.
The meeting further decided that facility of Internet would be provided at CRDC to facilitate it in organising rural development activities.
