Poultry Association praises government steps

Pakistan Poultry Association (PPA) has appreciated the measures taken by the government for the betterment of poultry sector in the fiscal year 2006-07. A PPA delegation, headed by its Chairman Raza Mehmood Khursand called on Minister for Food, Agriculture and Livestock Sikandar Hayat Khan Bosan.
The delegation members praised the government for giving incentives to the poultry industry, and hoped the support provided by the government would help revive the poultry industry.
Khursand assured the minister that poultry industry would make the best use of incentives, which were being given to the industry. Moreover, Pakistan Poultry Industry is organising an International Poultry Congress on August 25 and 26 in Lahore. An exhibition would also be held on the occasion. Minister for Food, Agriculture and Livestock promised to attend the moot.
The PPA Chairman demanded that soft loans must be issued to small and medium farmers on easy instalments. He also demanded that disparity in electricity tariff from poultry farms and hatcheries must be removed.
