PAC workshop from July 12

08 Jul, 2006

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the National Assembly with the assistance of the World Bank (WB) will organise a workshop here from July 12-13. As a capacity building measure for the members of the federal and provincial PACs, the workshop is aimed at helping them enhance their performance in the process of accountability.
This is the first ever event where the chairmen of all PACs and their members from treasury as well as opposition benches would gather to review the important task of financial accountability.
The PACs have been entrusted with the sacred trust of accountability of public funds.
The parliamentarians in the PACs of national and provincial assemblies are working in similar committees dealing with the identical task of financial accountability.
The workshop would also be addressed by the Chairman National Reconstruction Bureau (NRB) Daniyal Aziz, Auditor-General of Pakistan (AGP) Younis Khan and other eminent personalities.
