Kamal for start of work on six mass transit corridors

City Nazim, Syed Mustafa Kamal has said that Karachi has many mass transit corridors, but there is need to start immediate work on six corridors. At present Karachi is faced with grave transport problems and only solution to get rid from them lay in mass transit and signal-free roads", he said in a meeting here on Friday.
The meeting was also attended by DCO Fazlur Rehman, EDOs and other officials. He pointed out that City Government has launched development process with a great speed and in a very short period and its performance has been the best among all the district governments in Pakistan.
He said although transport is a big problem in Karachi at present, it will stand resolved to a great extent after one and a half year. He said the City Government is now planning in a manner whereby bridges are also being constructed for pedestrians.
