President, Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) Haroon Farooki has urged the government to permit Indian companies to participate in the KCCI exhibition "My Karachi Oasis of Harmony" scheduled to be held from July 29 to 31 at the Expo Centre.
Addressing a press conference at the KCCI auditorium, he said that there is some problem in participation of Indian companies in the exhibition due to existence of positive and negative list of import and export.
He urged the government to issue visas to those Indians who want to participate in this three-day exhibition. He also urged the management of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to announce a special group package for Indian and Bangladesh participants.
He pointed out that Bangladesh's intended participants informed that PIA is charging Rs 30,000 fair from Bangladesh to Pakistan whereas it charging Rs 18,000 to Rs 19000 from Pakistan to Bangladesh. The president said that the preparation of the exhibition is in full swing and Prime Minister of Pakistan Shaukat Aziz is expected to inaugurate the exhibition on July 28.
He said that Bangladesh, Sir Lanka, China has conformed participation in the exhibition. Beside many local companies are to participate in the exhibition and on spot sale of goods would be allowed. Companies are intending to offer goods at less than factory price.
