Sindh government has allotted 7,500 acres of land in coastal areas of Mirpursakro sub-division for installation of windmills for generation of electricity. According to official sources the land has been allotted at the rates of Rs 500 per acres for first 10 years and then Rs 1000 for next 20 years.
Several companies from USA, Japan, Canada and France have shown interest for installation of windmills for generation of cheap energy under Alternate Energy Development Programme.
