The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) has hailed the reconstitution of Council of Common Interest (CCI) saying that it was a bold step on part of President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and it will prove to be a milestone for the solution of national issues.
Talking to reporters here on Monday morning, the RCCI President, Jalil Ahmed Malik said that the Council was an important institution to promote national harmony and help resolve the issues pending since long.
"The institution has the jurisdiction to discuss and decide wide rang of issues including the matters like construction of big dams and water distribution among the provinces", he added.
RCCI chief said that country was in dire need of building big dams to meet its water and power requirements and CCI has the potential to make decisions acceptable to all.
