UK team calls on Punjab chief secretary

Punjab Chief Secretary (CS), Salman Siddique has said that quality education, better healthcare and provision of social services are priorities of the Punjab Chief Minister, for which the government is providing adequate funds.
He was talking to an eight-member delegation of Department for International Development UK here on Monday, disclosed an official. Yukihiro Shiroishi headed the delegation. The Chief Secretary told the delegation that the government was laying special emphasis on primary healthcare and ensuring availability of doctors at all union councils at least two days a week.
The health facilities at DHQs were also being improved and upgraded under Secondary Healthcare Programme. He further told them that prevention of diseases as well as their cure was equally important for the government.
