Conference on 'Valuing the People Factor' held

"Motivation can come from inside us or from the people around us. External motivation is short-lived unlike self-motivation, which lasts longer and can be sustained as long as one wishes. This is the truest form of motivation and is the prefect stepping-stone to the realisation of one's life long dreams and ambitions".
These thoughts by renowned international motivation expert Robert Urichuck jump-started 'Valuing the People Factor' conference organised by Octara held at a hotel in Karachi. The conference was preceded by a Master Class Workshop conducted by Dr Sunil Gupta, Global Master Trainer on Dr Edward De Bono's creativity tools.
The conference panel of distinguished speakers elaborated on the components of a perfect workplace that would encompass trust, enjoyment and a sense of fulfilment among the employees. Dr Amir Mateen, General Manager, CISCO Pakistan, reiterated that credibility respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie are the hallmarks of a successful workplace that employees like to associate themselves with in the long run.
Director HR British American Tobacco Company, Hasan Adnan, shared his experiences with participants stressing the need to involve all members of an organisation in order to ensure that everyone feel that they are part of the bigger picture and hence partake in accomplishing the company's long-term and short-term goals and objectives.-PR
