US cotton weekly export sales highlights: USDA

USDA cotton export sales highlights for latest reporting week. Net Upland sales of 71,400 RB were 70 percent below the previous week and 64 percent under the prior 4-week average.
The major buyers were China (23,000 RB), Turkey (11,900 RB), Bangladesh (6,700 RB), Mexico (6,400 RB), and El Salvador (6,300 RB). Net Sales of 9,900 RB for delivery in 2006/2007 resulted as major increases for Taiwan (7,700 RB), Malaysia (3,200 RB), and Vietnam (2,000 RB) were partially offset by decreases for Mexico (6,300 RB) and El Salvador (4,000 RB).
Exports of 362,600 RB were 8 percent below the previous week and 9 percent under the prior 4-week average. The major destinations were China (161,900 RB), Turkey (54,500 RB), Mexico (44,100 RB), Indonesia (19,000 RB), Thailand (10,400 RB), and Hong Kong (9,900 RB).
