South Korea has bought a total of 16,000 tonnes of primary aluminium ingots via tenders, an official at the state-run Public Procurement Service said on Friday. The agency purchased 6,000 tonnes of western aluminium ingots from Glencore at $92 a tonne over London Metal Exchange (LME) cash prices, he said.
The firm also bought another 10,000 tonnes of non-western aluminium ingots from LG International.
LG International agreed to deliver 8,000 tonnes of aluminium at $46.50 a tonne over LME cash prices to the port of Inchon and 2,000 tonnes at $42.50 a tonne to the port of Pusan.
