Countering terrorism: MoU signed with Philippines

The Armed Forces of Pakistan and Philippines on Saturday signed a Memorandum of Understanding on training, exchange of visits and exchange of information to counter terrorism. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Chief of the Armed Forces of Philippines, General Generoso S Senga and Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Ehsanul Haq.
Major General Pedro Cesar C Famboanga, Deputy Chief of Staff (Operations) of the Armed Forces of Philippines, and Rear Admiral Azher Bhamim Anwar, Director General Training Joint Staff Headquarters, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective governments.
A large number of government officials, including those from the Joint Staff Headquarters, were also present on the occasion. Later, General Senga visited the GHQ and met Vice Chief of Army Staff General Ahsan Saleem Hayat. He remained with him for some time and discussed matters of professional interest.
