Tomato prices are skyrocketing in interior Sindh and surged up to Rs 80 per kilogram. In various districts of lower Sindh including Dadu, Jamshoro, Badin, Thatta rates of tomato are adversely affected by this surge, while poor-standard tomatoes are also being sold in markets.
In this regard, growers of tomatoes said that substandard and poor quality seed provided to them, and later an attack of disease on tomato crop marred the yield by some 40 percent.
