MMA allows Durrani to attend NSC meeting

Opposition leader in the National Assembly Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Sunday lauded the four-year performance and good governance of the MMA government in the province.
"The people and critics will remember the MMA government's performance for longer time as it gives strength to democratic culture, promote tolerance and good governance during its four years' tenure," Maulana Fazlur Rehman said while addressing a press conference here at the Chief Minister house.
He said the MMA supreme council met on Sunday to review the overall performance of the MMA government in frontier province where all members expressed full confidence over its performance and found it better beyond their expectations.
Flanked by Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani, senior minister Sirajul Haq and other leaders of the six parties religious alliance, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said the MMA government had gone through all problems and challenges confronted to it both internally and externally in the first two years.
To a question, he said a record investment of Rs 26 billion have been attracted while 121 mills have been set up during the four-year period. He said the MMA supreme council has given permission to Chief Minister Akram Durrani to attend the next meeting the National Security Council (NSC).
To a question, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that the MMA supreme council will meet again on Monday at 9:30am in Peshawar to review the overall geo-political situation in the country.
To another question, he said MMA wants peace in tribal areas and would support all efforts for establishing harmony in tribal areas.
