'Cheap electricity can bring revolution'

Industrial revolution can only be made possible through providing cheaper electricity, low price oil and relaxation of taxes in raw material, said Provincial Minister for Power, Chaudhry Armughan Subhani while talking to a delegation of industrialists came from Gujranwala at his office, here on Sunday.
Subhani said power is the prime mover for the expeditious growth of economy of any country and it also determines the competitiveness of an economy and quality of life of individuals. He said many countries have restructured their economies through reforming their power sector.
He said China is a great example who made tremendous progress of power through providing lower cost and reliable quality to the Industrial zone during the last decade. He said restricting factor of China power sector has played an important role to capture impressive share in the global market besides attracting high level of foreign investments.
The minister said the Punjab government is utilising all the resources in the hydro power sector for maximum results and in this regard 40 small hydropower sights on Punjab Canal System have been explored and the feasibility reports of these sights were in completing process.
