SCCI and Apcea welcome trade policy

Sarhad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) and All Pakistan Commercial Exporters Association (APCEA) has welcomed the Trade Policy 2006-07, saying it would go long way in the promotion of the export of the country.
Commenting on the trade policy, president SCCI, Ghazanfar Bilour has expressed satisfaction over the measures taken by the government for the promotion of national trade and export. He said that the newly announced incentives would help achieve the target of US $18.60 billion without any difficulty.
He congratulated President Pervez Musharraf, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and Federal Minister for Commerce, Humayun Akhtar Khan, saying that establishment of advisory council with representation from both public and private sector for promotion of the national export a welcome step.
The SCCI chief also welcomed the establishment of Trade Development Authority replacing the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) and said that the new institution would help introduce national products in international market in a better way. He also appreciated the announcement for establishment of carpet cities in Karachi and Lahore, construction of expo centre and special expo zone for the promotion of Halal meat from Peshawar.
