24-hour customs working on ports hailed

Saboor Ahmed, Acting Chairman, Site Association of Industry (SAI), has hailed the proposal to have the Customs working at the ports 24/7 since it is the pragmatic way to facilitate exports.
He said that frequent unannounced holidays, work stoppages, and roadblocks have affected smooth movement of export cargoes through inland transportation and many exporters have missed their deadlines by being late in their deliveries to the ports.-PR
