Sindh Women Development Department is contemplating to build a Working Women Hostel to help women workers arriving Karachi to assume their professional responsibilities but face difficulties due to non-availability of proper accommodation.
Sindh Minister for Women Development Dr Saida Malik addressing a certificate distribution ceremony here said the economic progress being witnessed in the country was enhancing job opportunities for both men and women making it necessary that adequate facilities were ensured for them to contribute towards national economy.
"We were constantly witnessing influx of people from across the Sindh as well as different parts of the country towards Karachi in search of job," the minister said mentioning that a hostel was initially being envisaged for women in Karachi and this might later be followed with another in Hyderabad.
Provision for those hostels were extremely essential to enable women to work without any unwarranted tension, Dr Saida Malik elaborated.
