19 Jul, 2006

NWFP Industries, Labour, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Malik Zafar Azam has warned to cancel the industrial plots of those who have acquired them in the Hayatabad Industrial Estate to establish industry but they have not set up industry as yet.
The decision to this effect was taken during a joint meeting of Industries, Labour, Technical Education, Workers Welfare Board and Employees Social Security departments held here at Peshawar with Malik Zafar Azam in the chair.
The meeting asked the holders of the plots to immediately establish the industries, otherwise, the government reserved the right to cancel the same and hand it over to the willing industrialists in order to promote industrialisation.
The meeting reviewed overall performance of the Industries Department and directed the quarters concerned to further improve their performance. Addressing the meeting, Malik Zafar Azam directed the Controller Weight to regularly check the weight of bread "Roti" throughout the province as provincial government was constantly receiving public complaints in this regard.
He said that dishonesty was a crime and those indulged in malpractice viz-a-viz fluctuating measurement weight would be dealt with iron hand.
