Mexican crude oil exports and production slipped in June from the previous month, state oil monopoly Pemex said on Wednesday. Pemex said crude oil exports fell to 1.776 million barrels per day from 1.831 million bpd in May, while production dropped to 3.287 million bpd from 3.329 million bpd in May.
Mexico is a top three supplier of crude oil to the United States and raking in billions of dollars in windfall oil taxes as global oil prices soar above $70 per barrel.
Mexico's heavy crude oil mix recently rose above $60 per barrel for the first time ever.
Pemex said average natural gas output slipped slightly to 5.275 billion cubic feet per day in June from 5.285 bcfd in May, while natural gas imports rose to 706.5 million cubic feet per day from 651.0 million cfd.
Mexico, whose natural gas production has not kept pace with growing demand, has not exported any natural gas since 2002 and plugs the shortfall with imported gas from the United States.
