The applicant appeared before the court and contended that there were Rs 2.1 million in her locker but the respondent bank is providing her only Rs 0.5 million. The court advised her to accept Rs 0.5 million and file a suit for settling rest of her claim. The counsel of bank appeared before the court and contended that there were certain rules and regulations of banks and we could not give 'unlimited amount' against the claim.
The court advised the applicant to accept the bank offer and file suit for settlement of remaining amount of her claim. She however, refused to accept the cheque amounting to Rs 0.5 million.
