CDA body approves 10 schemes worth Rs 540 million

The Capital Development Authority Development Working Party (CDADWP) on Thursday approved 10 development schemes costing over Rs 540 million. The meeting to this effect held here with CDA Chairman Kamran Lashari in the chair. Besides, CDA officials, representatives from the Interior Ministry and the Planning Commission also attended the meeting.
While two schemes rehabilitation and carpeting of existing street in P and V Scheme-II, Chak Shahzad and dualisation of service road in Sector G-11 were deferred.
The dualisation of Nazim-ud-Din Road would encompass 3.69-km in two sectors, which would be completed within one year. The construction work of second carriage of Khayaban-e-Iqbal is already under way.
Besides, 280 new streetlight poles would be installed and design of old lights would also be changed in poultry and vegetable farms at Park Road.
The second phase of new filtration plants project would also be launched. These plants would be installed in 10 different places, including sectors G-7, G-8/2, I-10, I-14, G-6 and Presidential Estate Colony Awain-e-Sadr.
To ensure smooth flow of traffic, Daman-e-Koh intersection has been redesigned by widening and providing slip lances on all the four turning sides. A roundabout in front of the zoo would also be constructed for easy splitting of traffic towards zoo and Margalla Hills.
