PAC condemns Israeli aggression

The National Assembly's Public Accounts Committee on Friday strongly condemned Israel's ongoing naked aggression against Lebanon and Palestine, urging the world community to help end the Muslims' carnage.
During the committee's deliberations on Defence Ministry affairs, the condemnation came through a consensus resolution, which castigated Tel Aviv for heavy bombardment on civilian locations in the two Muslim countries, resulting in hundreds of casualties.
The resolution said that Israel was flouting all international principles and was carrying out genocide of innocent people. The committee expressed grief over the compounding human sufferings, particularly in Lebanon.
"The silence of the United Nations over the loss of lives, and Israel openly targeting civilian areas, and the delay in measures to stop the aggression reflects the world body's bias towards the Muslims," the resolution said.
The committee demanded of the international institutions and human right organisations to play an active role in stopping the human catastrophe and protecting the civilians. The resolution also called for an emergency meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Conference to discuss the crisis and thrash out a strategy thereon.
The committee offered Fateha for the victims of Israel's atrocities. Earlier, Hafiz Husain Ahmad's proposal that the explosive situation in Iraq should also be mentioned in the resolution was set aside.
The participants of the meeting were PAC Chairman Allah Yar Khan, Liaquat Baloch, Safdar Shakir, Ali Akbar, Ghulam Rasool, Sardar Ashiq, Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, Khalid Younis and Tanvir Hussain.
