Police squad formed to arrest absconders, proclaimed offenders

Islamabad Police have constituted a squad to trace and arrest court absconders and proclaimed offenders, solve the lingering cases and provide justice to people.
"This squad of Islamabad Saddar Circle police has the only objective to trace court absconders and proclaimed offenders. The squad personnels would also visit other areas of country to trace and arrest such criminals of that particular area with the co-operation of local police," said Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Saddar Circle Farhan Zahid on Sunday.
The constitution of this squad, an initiative of SDPO Saddar Circle, took place after consultation and permission of senior police officials.
Farhan Zahid said Crime Control Committee has also been constituted and people of the area would share necessary information with the police to comb at crimes.
"It will be actually a network of people who can inform police high ups with trust about crime situation and criminals of the area," he said while talking to APP.
He said that a new police check post has been established for suburb of Tarnol, Sheikhpur and Nun, in order to inculcate the sense of security among people and keep a vigilant eye on criminals.
This police check post would be operational from July 24 he said and assured to maintain the writ of law in his area.
He said that police officials equipped with necessary equipment and weapons would be deputed at this check post.
The newly appointed ASP was of the view that there should be no delay in registering the complaints and there should be a fair inquiry into cases helpful for bringing justice to people and win their confidence in police force.
"After necessary verification, there should be no delay in registering First Information Report (FIR) as the police have an objective to facilitate people and remedy their complaints at priority," he said.
Farhan Zahid said that crackdown in his area had been started against the vehicle owners, keeping no documents or driving the vehicles without registration.
"I will not tolerate any VIP culture in the area as everyone is equal in the eyes of law," he said.
During the last fortnight, he said 15 wine bottles; four-kilogram charas, 20 beer cans and two pistols were recovered from the jurisdictions of Tarnol and Golra police stations falling in Saddar circle.
