PML-N for grand opposition alliance

24 Jul, 2006

Punjab PML-N President Zulifqar Ali Khan Khosa has said it remained the ardent need of the hour for all the political parties to make strong and powerful grand opposition alliance to get rid of the present dictatorship. He was addressing a press conference here Sunday.
Averring on subject of rendering resignations by party legislators, Khosa said these would be submitted when asked by the Party head Nawaz Sharif.
He said that party would hold conventions at the Tehsil level in Punjab from September this year.
Talking about law and order, Khosa said that lawlessness, corruption, price-hike, nepotism, burglaries, robberies, and assassinations had become the order of the day and life and properties of the citizens were not safe despite fresh recruitment in police and other law enforcement agencies.
He said that all opposition political parties must join hands with each other to launch joint and forceful campaign against the present rulers, adding this was necessary to safeguard the integrity and solidarity of the country.
Citing example of Pakistan Steel Mills sell-off fiasco, Zulifqar Khosa said the present rulers aimed to sell out profitable assets of the country at the throw away price. He warned that people of Pakistan would never allow anybody to do harm the interests of Pakistan and would stand in the way of all illegalities hampering country's existence.
