The Judge, Anti Terrorism Court-II, Sukkur, Muhammad Riaz Rajput on Saturday convicted and sentenced accused Rasoolo alias Rasool Bakhsh, Shaban Shaikh, Ali January Lakhan and Gulab Lakhan for life term and also ordered confiscation of their entire property in a kidnapping case.
The kidnapping case No 33/2005 was registered at the Foujdari Police Station Shikarpur on January 24, 2005 and tried u/s 365-A r/w Section 34 PPC and 7/ATA.
According to details of the FIR lodged by Noor Ahmed Soomro, the above named convicts had kidnapped Riaz Ahmed Soomro (23 years) and his cousin Azhar Ali Soomro (24 years) from the jurisdiction of Sadar Mohallah Shikarpur for ransom on February 06, 2004.
Later, it was alleged by the complainant, that ransom money of Rs3 lac was also paid to the convicts by them, but despite that both the kidnapped were not released.
The verdict of the Judge said that the charges against the above named convicts were substantiated during the trial proceedings, and that both the hostages have also not been recovered as yet. The verdict therefore awarded life term sentence to each of the above named convicts, which was pronounced in the open court.
