Heavy rain lashed Hyderabad on Sunday and caused hardships to the people. The heavy downpour started at about 7:00 pm and continued for half an hour. Power outage was the first outcome of rain, which plunged the entire city into darkness. Rainwater was accumulated on almost every road.
The instructions of Zila Nazim to all the Taluka Municipal Officers to make preparations to face the challenges of rain seemed ignored by TMOs and rain caused further damage to drainage system of city, which was already in shabby condition.
It appears that district government officials were not prepared to receive rains.
