'Development projects should be swiftly completed'

City Nazim, Syed Mustafa Kamal has said that ongoing development projects should be swiftly completed. "The inauguration of Abul Hasan Ispahani Road is being performed on Sunday while other under construction roads, fly-overs and underpasses will be inaugurated in the second week of August," he informed while addressing a review meeting here at his office on Saturday.
Kamal said for the first time in the history of Karachi, work on a large number of development projects was started apace simultaneously. At the moment uplift projects worth Rs 30 billion are under construction and they have just started completing, he added.
He said, "we are well aware of the hardships and difficulties that people faced due to execution of some of these projects." But, he said, their hardships are about to be transformed into facilities, after which all the problems related to these projects will be over.
The City Nazim directed to expedite work and utilise all the available resources to ensure completion of the projects within the specified time frame. He said in the second week of August, traffic will be opened to Ibn-e-Sina Road which will be followed by the inauguration of Pak Colony Road, then Shahra-e-Orangi and fly-overs.
He said it is the co-operation of the people due to which we could be successful in completing some mega development projects within shortest span of time and for which we are extremely grateful to them.
