District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil has asked all Taluka Municipal Officers (TMOs) and officers of Hyderabad Development Authority (HDA) to adopt all preventive measures and provide early relief to people in case of any emergency during expected heavy rains.
There is a need for preparation of a comprehensive plan for early disposal of rainwater, if the low lying areas get inundated as a result of expected heavy rains, the District Nazim emphasised while presiding over a meeting here at his secretariat on Saturday.
As a result of efforts of the present District Government Kanwar Jamil informed generators have been installed at many of the water supply and sewerage pumping stations of Hyderabad City, Latifabad and Qasimabad talukas of the district is alternative source of energy in case of power failure during the rains.
He made it clear that no negligence in providing prompt services to the citizens will be tolerated and warned that strict action will be taken against officers or staff failing in early disposal of rainwater.
He directed that all required machinery including diesel pumps and water disposal vehicles should he made ready so that the people do not face any inconvenience during the rains. He underlined the need for setting up rain emergency and complaint centres in all talukas of the district
Earlier Taluka Nazim Hyderabad City Javed Jabbar, Taluka Nazim Latifabad Engineer Sabir Qaimkhani, representative of Taluka Municipal. Administration Qasimabad, Director General HDA Tahir Ahmed and Managing Director Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) Kafeel Ahmed briefed the District Nazim about the rain emergency measures.
