Soomro meets Badawi

Chairman Senate, Mohammedmian Soomro called on the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato Sri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, and shared views on matters which are of crucial interest to Pakistan and Malaysia. They also discussed regional and international situation with particular reference to the situation in Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine and Kashmir.
Mohammadmian Soomro, in his opening remarks thanked the government and the people of Malaysia for extending timely and valuable support for the earthquake victims in Pakistan.
Expressing full satisfaction over the increasing co-operation between two countries the Senate Chairman thanked the Malaysian government for making Pakistan a source country for importing manpower.
Mohammadmian Soomro underscored that Pakistan keen to upgrade its status in Asean to full dialogue partner and appreciated Malaysia's leadership role as Chairman of OIC, Asean, NAM, and East Asia Summit.
The Senate Chairman, while underlying the need for grater co-operation among the Muslim countries stated that President Musharraf's vision of "Enlightened Moderation" and Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi's approach of 'Islam Hadhari" was harmonious concept which may be a good way forward for Muslim Ummah.
