Commodity prices fluctuate within narrow range

Most of the Kirana items and moong from Burma showed rising trend while rest of the commodities like Irri 6 Sindh Irri white broken, raw rubber, cotton cakes and milk powder showed modest changes, during the week ended on July 22, 2006.
On Monday variations were marked in both commodities wholesale markets and Jodia Bazar. On the commodities' markets moong and oilcake were seen sharply higher moong Punjab gained Rs 100 to Rs 4650 and moong from Burma picked up Rs 250 to Rs 4500, as supply was said to be scarce, on the seed side, cotton cakes gained Rs 20 to Rs 670 while better was quoted higher at Rs 680. On JB milk powder was also on the rising chain as Amul from India (per bag of 25 kg closed higher by Rs 50 to Rs 4350, Euro Gold also was up by Rs 25 to 4525 and Corolac ended higher by Rs 25 to Rs 4650.
On Tuesday jute goods suffered modestly on IB such as 20x3 brown closed lower by 50 paisa to Rs 39, 16x3 CRTS/Indus to Rs 37 hessian cloth 45x10 Amin moved downside by Rs 20 to Rs 1680, and 50x9 Thul shed Rs 10 to Rs 1690. On the commodities wholesale markets bajra inferior type shed Rs 75 to Rs 950 and better type lost Rs 50 to Rs 1250 as supplies improved. The cottonseed oilcake with bag gained rs 10 to Rs 680 and better quoted at Rs690.
On Wednesday grain and seeds markets could not furnish rates owing to it being closed on account of death anniversary of Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique (RA). Rates from Jodia Bazar were also not available.
On Thursday Jodia Bazar emerged with some change in Kirana items (per 40 Kg) white pepper closed up substantially by Rs 1000 to Rs 8400, white pepper from Singapore ended down by Rs 100 to Rs 4700, big cardamom showed weakness by rs 200 to Rs 9400, dry ginger lost Rs 100 to Rs 4200.
Ispaghol ki Bhoosi up elsewhere on the wholesale commodity markets, rapeseed Mirpurkhas low type rose by Rs 20 to Rs 790 and better type up by Rs 5 to Rs 795, moong Punjab lost Rs 25 to close at Rs 4500, moong from Barma also lost Rs 500 to end at Rs 4000, wheat Mexipak declined by Rs 5 to Rs 1,120, rice Irri 6 Sindh retreated by Rs 20 to Rs 1,330 while better type was up quoted at Rs 1335, Irri while broken inferior type shed Rs 20 to Rs 900 and better type gained merely Rs 5 to Rs 1800.
On Friday a few fluctuation were noted both on wholesale commodity markets and Jodia Bazar. The raw rubber has turned lower by Rs 2 to 75 and pale crape TPC 3 shed Rs 25 to Rs 80. Latex Semnan moved lower by Rs 10 to Rs 520 and Thai (G.T.) also went down by Rs 10 to Rs 520. Wholesale commodity markets experienced firmness owing to supply and demand being matching.
On Saturday modest business was observed with some changes on cereal side and seed sector.
