Government accords due importance to environment: Shaukat

Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has said that the government accords due importance to issues related to environment as it fully realises the scope and impact they can have on the masses in particular and society at large.
He stated this in his message on the occasion of Third Annual Environmental Excellence Awards and Conference.
The Prime Minister pointed out that special allocation of funds has been made in the budget to meet the needs of environmental issues so that our habitat can be pollution free.
He said the government has also taken concrete steps to improve the conditions in the industrial sector, which is directly related with the masses and society. Shaukat Aziz in his message reminded that no society can ensure a healthy and pollution free environment without taking serious and concrete steps to significantly improve the industrial environment.
He said the civil society organisations could play a vital role by generating awareness.
